Cannabinoid Profiling

Cannabinoid Profiling

Cannabinoids are the naturally occurring active chemical compounds found in cannabis that work together to produce varying psychoactive and non-psychoactive effects. Understanding the cannabinoid composition of different products and strains is vital to ensuring that patients receive the desired medicinal effects to treat their symptoms. Anresco has the capability to perform cannabinoid profiling (i.e. potency testing) via two different methods.

LC-DAD

(Liquid Chromatography-UV) can be used to accurately quantify the presence of 11 cannabinoids:

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9-THC, THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆8-THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (∆9-THCA)
  • Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)
  • Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA)
  • Cannabidivarin (CBDV)
  • Cannabigerol (CBG)
  • Cannabigerolic Acid (CBGA)
  • Cannabinol (CBN)
  • Cannabichromene (CBC)

GC-FID

(Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detector) can be used to accurately quantify the presence of 6 cannabinoids:

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9-THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆8-THC)
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)
  • Cannabigerol (CBG)
  • Cannabinol (CBN)
  • Cannabichromene (CBC)
