Cannabinoid Profiling

Cannabinoid Profiling

Cannabinoids are the naturally occurring chemical compounds found in cannabis that work together to produce varying psychoactive and non-psychoactive effects.  In combination, they are known to act synergistically to form an ‘entourage effect’, providing benefits beyond what each individually would ordinarily provide.

We test for cannabinoids via three different instruments: LC-UV (most routine samples), LC-MS/MS (if extremely low limits of detection are required) and GC-FID (upon request). Call us at 415-822-1100 to learn more information about our cannabinoid profiling services and to obtain a quote.

LC-UV & LC-MS/MS

(Liquid Chromatography-UV) can be used to accurately quantify the presence of 11 cannabinoids:

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9-THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆8-THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (∆9-THCA)
  • Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV)
  • Tetrahydrocannabivarinic acid (THCVA)
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)
  • Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA)
  • Cannabidivarin (CBDV)
  • Cannabigerol (CBG)
  • Cannabigerolic Acid (CBGA)
  • Cannabinol (CBN)
  • Cannabichromene (CBC)
  • Cannabichromenic acid (CBCA)

GC-FID

(Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detector) can be used to accurately quantify the presence of 6 cannabinoids:

  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9-THC)
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (∆8-THC)
  • Cannabidiol (CBD)
  • Cannabigerol (CBG)
  • Cannabinol (CBN)
  • Cannabichromene (CBC)
